Accenture shopping spree continues in Europe: Acquiring six companies in a month

The Dublin, Ireland-based multinational professional service firm Accenture continues its shopping spree with six new purchases in a single month. The company's behemoth has approximately 700,000 skilled workforces working under the same wing but various feathers.

Julie Sweet, Chairman & CEO, talked about the company's performance around the globe. She said, "one thing is universally true of the people of Accenture: we deeply care about what we do and the impact we have with our clients and communities." The dialogue truly represents the company portfolio as they are going the extra mile to adopt necessary services as quickly as possible.

Currently, the portfolio has networking services, big data, a supply chain, and a series of cloud logistics companies. This is one of the strongest shopping sprees we've seen for a service provider. Six purchases to fulfil customer needs is a great move and shows how far a company can go to achieve satisfaction. The additional companies add roughly 25,000 employees to Accenture's 700,000-strong global employees.

Since 2013, the company has purchased 225 companies and achieved a global acquisition spree. Performance is unlike any other company worldwide, where performance is given this much priority. High-quality talents, UpToDate services, newer features and customer opportunities have never seen such a faster pace of adoption.

Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has $198.79 billion in market cap with 2,972,088 public share volumes. The basic to 1-year performance average grew to 3.58 per cent, which is billions in the calculation. The acquisition spree cost the company $50.5 billion, which ranked it CRNs No.1 solution provider on 500 lists. Being number one in a list of top 500 MSPs says a lot. The company acquired many IT companies around the globe and made a global tech portfolio. Many service providers have a central IT hub and a few around the map. But that's not the case for Accenture. The company has separate departments in each region where there are clients. Hence the presence is stronger.

When the Tech News Hub reporting team went through the 2022 Tech Trends vision for Accenture, it gave some fascinating info. The company is not shifting focus but creating subsectors to help clients grow in the Metaverse. They call it the "Metaverse Continuum" – "a spectrum of digitally enhanced worlds, realities and business models poised to revolutionise life and enterprise in the next decade." CTO Paul Daugherty said, "Every business is a digital business. That's the moment we're in today with the Metaverse. It is a different future from now on."

On Friday, Accenture acquired Ergo for its data-driven business. Big data, by the name, has significant use cases. Analysing big data and integrating AI for decision making is gaining popularity day by day. As the Russia-Ukraine conflict continued, the company responded to the matter as an "unlawful and horrific attack on the people of Ukraine" and exited the business in Russia. That was the last big decision for the company as they have a lot of Russian clients. But the shopping spree covers all that as one of the biggest names in services provider listing is showing no sign of slowing down. The consulting and technology service giant, with recent purchases in Europe, France, Spain, and Sweden over the past four months, is notable as stockholders benefit from the buying.

Currently, the company ash locations in 200 cities for continuous operations across 50 countries and 185 partners in the ecosystem. Accenture holds 8,200 patents and pending patents worldwide and serves around 7k clients in more than 120 countries.

UK based sustainability Avieco was also purchased in April when 60 employees jumped the Accenture ship to work in London. April shopping spree also included network service provider AFD Tech, a Paris-based company with more than 1,600 employees. On March 24, the company bought Alfa Consulting, and before that, the digital engineering and operational technology capabilities of Transcom ITS, a Japanese logistics tech service provider, were purchased.

The powerhouse is still ranking the highest place in many categories for service providers. With this kind of purchasing power, the newer class may come in handy for proper representation.
