JumpCloud expands into Privileged Access Management with VaultOne acquisition

JumpCloud has announced its acquisition of VaultOne, a provider of robust privileged access management (PAM) solutions. For MSSPs, IT admins, and security teams already using JumpCloud to manage users, devices, and resources, the integration of VaultOne unlocks a powerful new layer of protection for critical infrastructure.

Why it matters

Privileged accounts remain one of the most targeted assets in the modern enterprise. They are the digital keys to cloud platforms, databases, SaaS apps, and production servers. VaultOne brings a flexible, browser-based PAM solution that offers real-time monitoring, session recording, and policy-based access controls across a wide variety of resources.

"Today’s workforce is distributed. Critical infrastructure is everywhere. And security can’t be bolted on,” said Greg Keller, CTO and co-founder of JumpCloud. “This acquisition gives us a turnkey PAM capability that extends our platform’s control and usability without adding friction.”

What’s included

With VaultOne technology folded into its stack, JumpCloud now offers:

  • Comprehensive PAM across hybrid assets - Control and audit access to cloud providers, databases, and servers through customizable workflows.

  • Secure, browser-in-browser access - A virtualized session experience that enhances control without requiring endpoint installation.

  • VPN-less architecture - Direct, policy-enforced access to resources without exposing the broader network.

  • Integrated threat reduction - Features that help prevent lateral movement and insider threats by enforcing just-in-time access and continuous monitoring.

  • Scalability for modern IT teams - Built to support small businesses and scaling enterprises alike, offering password management, passwordless access, and now PAM under one unified roof.

For partners and customers

The acquisition is particularly relevant for managed security service providers (MSSPs), many of whom already use JumpCloud for directory and endpoint management. Adding PAM to the stack gives them a fuller security posture to deliver to clients, especially those in regulated industries or managing sensitive cloud infrastructure.

VaultOne customers will continue to receive uninterrupted service. While the terms of the deal remain undisclosed, both companies signaled a tight integration going forward.

“Joining forces with JumpCloud represents a powerful alignment of our visions,” said Leonardo Cooper, CEO of VaultOne. “Together, we’re giving IT and security teams a unified, secure experience for managing all types of access.”
