ConnectWise and Proofpoint launch AI-powered email security and training in new partnership

ConnectWise has announced a new partnership with cybersecurity leader Proofpoint. The collaboration introduces ConnectWise Email Security™ and Security Awareness Training, an AI-powered solution designed specifically for the managed service provider (MSP) ecosystem.

The new offering, which is built directly into the ConnectWise Asio™ platform, aims to provide MSPs with enterprise-grade email protection and streamlined security management. The move comes as phishing and malicious URLs continue to be the primary entry points for over 90% of successful cyberattacks, a critical threat for the small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) that MSPs serve.

The integrated solution will leverage Proofpoint's industry-leading threat intelligence to deliver Advanced Threat Protection against a wide range of threats, including phishing, malware, ransomware, and business email compromise (BEC).

A key feature, Modern URL Defense, is designed to neutralize malicious links before users have a chance to click on them. The platform also includes data loss prevention capabilities, scanning outbound emails for sensitive information to ensure compliance.

Beyond just technology, the partnership addresses the human element of cybersecurity. The solution includes a Security Awareness Training component that helps MSPs educate their clients' employees and foster a security-conscious culture.

The training programs are automated and can be tailored to an individual's specific risks and behaviors, with a focus on real-world scenarios and a "just-in-time" learning approach.

For MSPs, the solution is designed to reduce complexity and operational costs while accelerating revenue. By integrating directly into the Asio platform, it allows for a centralized management console, automated threat response, and the ability to quickly clone security profiles across multiple clients.
